Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans
Medicare Prescription Drug Plans are available at a variety of prices with different lists of drugs (formularies). There are co-pay prices for generics and brand name drugs, and most divide the drugs up into four or more categories with different prices for each.
For example some have different co-pays for:
• preferred generic drugs
• generic drugs
• preferred brand name drugs
• non-preferred brand name drugs
If you take mostly generics, you would be better off with a plan that doesn’t charge for them. But if your prescriptions are brand names, you’ll want a plan that has better prices for them. We can talk about which would be best for you.
